“Cathedral” UE4 Level
This UE4 level was created as part of an assignment, using UE4 asset packs and free online assets. Some assets required minor edits and UV-unwrapping in Maya prior to use.
I aimed for a dark, Gothic aesthetic, as much as possible with the free assets available, inspired by Bloodborne architecture and Gothic cathedrals across Europe. The rose window of Notre-Dame features prominently as a tribute due to the fire damage that occurred during the work on this project.
This was designed as a first-person shooter level, in the style of Overwatch, with asymmetrical capture point dynamics. The attacking team has to take the first point (in the gardens to the left) by having more players present on the point, then once that is captured can progress to the final objective within the Cathedral, which is close to the Defenders’ spawn point.
